About Reichman University (formerly IDC Herzliya)

IDC Herzliya is a private, not-for-profit academic institution, fully accredited by the Council for Higher Education (Israel) to bestow bachelors, masters and doctorate degrees. It was founded by Professor Uriel Reichman in 1994 without assistance from the government’s budgetary system (until today) for higher education and enjoys complete academic and administrative freedom.

IDC Herzliya has changed the face of higher education in Israel and has become a successful, pioneering model and a source of inspiration. Its aim is to train the future leaders of Israel, to nurture a financial, political, technological, and legal leadership of the highest caliber. IDC Herzliya’s approach is considerably different from other academic institutions in Israel in that it involves integrating disciplines and great responsibility to society. This is demonstrated by its interdisciplinary education, allowing students to combine different disciplines and graduating with a double major; its international approach, both reflected in the curriculum and the diversity of the student body (over 2,000 of international students from 91 different countries); Legal Aid Clinics through which students offer free legal aid to underprivileged populations; the establishment of new academic disciplines, such as counter-terrorism and entrepreneurship; and by being at the forefront of advances in science and technology in both our educational offering and research in data science and machine learning, AI and computer science applications, human-computer interaction (including AR and VR), brain research, computational biology, and more.

IDC Herzliya aspires to provide its graduates with a profound and extensive education in a variety of arenas, and to motivate them to utilize the interdisciplinary approach that is an indispensable ingredient of success in the international business arena in the 21st Century. To that end, IDC Herzliya meticulously seeks to employ in its faculty qualified teachers of international repute who combine academic excellence with real-world experience.

IDC Herzliya offers full degree programs in the social sciences and exact sciences. It is research-intensive with a strong research output. Our interdisciplinary research is recognized worldwide in both competitive grants and publications. We have 174 tenure-track research faculty across 9 schools and 33 research centers, laboratories and institutes, working on over 100 active grants at present.
