Kalashnikov Tech (Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University)

Kalashnikov Tech (Kalashnikov Izhevsk State Technical University) was founded in 1952. On 22 February 2012 Izhevsk State Technical University was named after Mikhail Kalashnikov, a legendary designer of small arms and Honorary Professor of ISTU. Kalashnikov Tech is a rapidly developing research and educational system, aimed at the highest results of world level and is a leading research and methodological center of Russia in training specialists in instrumentation and mechanical engineering, mechatronics and robotics, computer engineering and information technologies, management and economics, civil and automotive engineering, natural sciences and humanities. The university is training engineers in 5 specialties, 39 bachelor programs, 31 master programs, 10 PhD and doctoral programs. Kalashnikov Tech offers 4 bachelor programs in English, as well as the preparatory course for those wishing to proceed with Russian-taught programs. 

The university has a State accreditation. Seven programs of bachelor and master studies passed the procedure of international accreditation in the Central Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation (ZEvA) (Germany). 

The university has been participating in various ranking procedures. Thus, in the latest QS University Rankings Emerging Europe & Central Asia Kalshnikov Tech is #351-400, and #301-350 in QS BRICS University Rankings 2019.
