Karaganda Industrial University is a scientific and educational center of the central region and a leading university in the field of metallurgy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Today, the Karaganda Industrial University is a center for socio-political stability and the integration of education, science and innovation, providing the mining and metallurgical industry with competitive personnel with higher and postgraduate education.

The university has a three-level system of training: bachelor - master - doctor of philosophy (PhD). Karaganda Industrial University provides training for graduate programmes in metallurgy, materials science, chemical technology, mechanical engineering, electric power, automation, technological machinery and equipment, life safety, construction and economics. In national ratings, University master's study programmes occupy leading positions. Karaganda Industrial University provides training for doctoral programmes in metallurgy, nanotechnology and nanomaterials. Classes, scientific research are conducted in a mass laboratory - Laboratory of Engineering Profile «Electron Microscopy and Nanotechnology», which allows doctoral students to conduct scientific research in full.
