Karshi State Technical University (KSTU) is a public higher education institution located in Karshi, Uzbekistan. The university was originally established in 1995 as the Karshi Engineering and Economics Institute. In 2024, in accordance with a Presidential Decree of the Republic of Uzbekistan, several branches of higher education institutions operating in the region were consolidated under the institute, which was subsequently reorganized into Karshi State Technical University.
Following this reorganization, KSTU has evolved into a comprehensive technical university with a strong focus on engineering, technology, and applied sciences. The university offers undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degree programmes across a broad range of disciplines, including engineering and technology, natural sciences, business and management (economics, finance, accounting, and logistics), agriculture, environmental studies, and information technologies.
KSTU places particular emphasis on industrial engineering, energy, oil and gas technologies, mining, chemical engineering, automation, computer science, information systems, data science, and artificial intelligence , as well as sustainable development. The university actively integrates digital technologies and modern computational approaches into education and research activities.
The university comprises multiple faculties and academic departments supported by modern laboratories, research centres, and innovation-oriented educational infrastructure. KSTU promotes practice-oriented education and maintains close cooperation with industrial enterprises, energy companies, and technology-driven organizations.
Internationalization is a strategic priority of Karshi State Technical University. The university has established academic and research cooperation with higher education institutions and organizations in Europe and Asia, including Germany, Italy, Poland, Hungary, Malaysia, China, South Korea , and other countries. KSTU actively participates in international academic mobility programmes, joint research projects, and capacity-building initiatives.
