Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs

Kharkiv National University of Internal Affairs is the higher educational institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. In 2017, together with the public, the University celebrated 100 years since the beginning of training of law enforcement personnel in Kharkiv. During this time, the University has trained more than 50 thousand specialists for law enforcement agencies working in all parts of Ukraine.

The University trains specialists under the state order and at the expense of individuals and legal entities to obtain degrees of higher education "bachelor", "master", "doctor of philosophy".

Faculty No. 1 (Investigation) conducts full-time training of investigators for pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine to obtain a bachelor's degree in specialty 081 "Law".

The Faculty also prepares investigators, specialists for the pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine on a full-time basis to obtain a master's degree in the specialty 081 "Law".

Faculty graduates work in pre-trial investigation bodies as investigators.

Faculty No. 2 (Criminal Police) trains full-time bachelors in the following specialties:

081 "Law", which prepares investigators for pre-trial investigation bodies of the National Police of Ukraine;

262 "Law Enforcement Activity" - operatives for criminal police units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Graduates of the Faculty work in criminal investigation units, fight against illegal drug trafficking, strategic investigations and other operational units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Faculty No. 3 (Preventive Activity) trains full-time bachelors in the following specialties:

262 "Law Enforcement Activity", which trains district police officers for preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine;

053 "Psychology" - psychologists and specialists for juvenile prevention units of the National Police of Ukraine.

The Faculty also prepares full-time master's degrees in specialty 262 "Law Enforcement Activity" for preventive activity units of the National Police of Ukraine.

Graduates of the Faculty work as psychologists, in the positions of inspectors of juvenile prevention, authorization system, in personnel departments, and patrol police.

Faculty No. 4 (Cyberpolice) trains full-time bachelors in the following specialties:

081 "Law", which trains investigators for the cyber police units of the National Police of Ukraine;

262 "Law Enforcement Activity " - specialists for the anti-trafficking units of the National Police of Ukraine;

125 "Cybersecurity" - specialists for the cyber police units of the National Police of Ukraine.

This is the only Faculty in the system of departmental institutions of higher education in Ukraine that trains specialists for the cyber police units of the National Police of Ukraine. Graduates of the Faculty work in the positions of investigators, operative units of the cyber police, specialists of anti-trafficking units, as well as in operational and technical and information and analytical units.

Faculty No. 5 (for employees of the National Police of Ukraine) conducts part-time training for the National Police of Ukraine to obtain bachelor's and master's degrees in specialty 262 "Law Enforcement Activity".

Faculty No. 6 (at the expense of individuals and legal entities), where students study, including foreign citizens. The Faculty provides training for bachelor's and master's degrees in specialties 081 "Law", 262 "Law Enforcement Activity", 053 "Psychology", 072 "Finance, Banking and Insurance", 125 "Cybersecurity".

The University also includes:

Sumy branch of KhNUIA, on the basis of which Bachelors and Masters are trained in full-time and part-time forms of training of district police officers for the preventive activities of the National Police of Ukraine in specialty 262 "Law Enforcement Activity". Also, students at the expense of individuals and legal entities study in  Sumy branch to obtain the degree of "bachelor" and "master" in the specialties 081 "Law" and 262 "Law Enforcement Activity".

On the basis of Sumy branch of KhNUIA, Sumy Center for Primary Professional Training “Police Academy” which carries out the initial professional training of police officers who have been hired for the first time in the police service. 

Kremenchuk Flight College of KhNUIA, on the basis of which Bachelors and Professional Junior Bachelors are trained on full-time and part-time courses in flight, technical and economic specialties. The college also has a department for training foreign students and retraining aviation specialists. The college is one of the leading aviation state institutions of higher education in Ukraine, and in the field of helicopter personnel training, it has no equal at all.
