The Pharmacology & Molecular Genetics BSc explores the link between genes, disease and treatment by combining the study of drugs and their effects in the body with study of the structure and function of genes and genomes.  This course can serve as an ideal foundation for careers in the pharmaceutical industry or biomedical research, especially in pharmacogenetics, or as preparation for graduate entry into medicine. Students may study abroad for a year, or put their knowledge and skills in practice during a professional placement year. KCL has partnered with South London & Maudsley Hospital (SLaM), and the more than 100 research teams at the IoPPN, from basic and clinical neuroscience, to developmental neurobiology, to neuroimaging and psychiatric research, to neurodevelopmental and age-related disorders ensure that students will find a placement that meets their interests. In the final year students can choose from an exciting and wide range of optional modules covering all flavours of neuroscience and psychology.
