About Korean Academy of Film Arts

In 1984, the Korean Film Council established Korean Academy of Film Arts (KAFA) as the cradle for highly trained and creative professionals. The students at KAFA are young filmmakers who are filled with passion for film. Within KAFA’s creative and unique educational atmosphere, the students are put through arduous programs to become the best in their field.To date, KAFA has produced more than 600 graduates who specialized in directing, cinematography, producing and animation, and the graduates now serve a central role in Korean cinema. Each year, KAFA’s passion for cinema is transformed into new energy for Korea’s film industry.
