Demographic Changes and Economic Development PhD
Demographic changes, including rapid population ageing, declining fertility rates, and large-scale cross-border migration, have emerged as significant social concerns in many developed countries. This PhD research aims to explore how demographic changes influence various aspects of social and economic development in the UK and/or other European countries and to identify the mechanisms driving these effects.
The study seeks to provide a deeper understanding of the relationship between demographic changes and economic development in different country contexts, ultimately contributing to finding innovative strategies for fostering sustainable growth. Key areas of inquiry include but are not limited to:
  • The impact of population aging on productivity in developed economies.
  • The role of technology in mediating the relationship between demographic changes and economic growth.
  • The influence of cultural diversity on economic development and growth.
By addressing these and other related questions, the research will inform the development of evidence-based policy interventions that promote social inclusion, enhance productivity, and support inclusive and sustainable economic progress.
