Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University)

Maharishi Markandeshwar (Deemed to be University), Mullana, Ambala was established under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide Gazette Notification dated 12th June, 2007 by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India on the recommendations of University Grants Commission. The journey to excellence commenced in 1995 with the establishment of an Engineering College with approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), State Government of Haryana and under affiliation with Kurukshetra University. Within about 25 years, the MM Group with three Universities in the states of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, has grown to a multi-faculty & multi-campus organisation offering nearly 150 UG, PG as well as Ph.D programs in Professional and Health Sciences.

MM(DU) has been Accredited with its highest Grade ‘A++’ by NAAC and is proud to be a part of Top 3% Institutions of India. MM(DU) is also the First Self Financing University in the states of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and UTs of Chandigarh, Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh to get ‘A++’ grade. MM(DU) has been ranked in the rank band 551-600 in QS Asia University Rankings for two years in a row i.e. 2021 & 2022 and at 174 ^th  place in Southern Asia region in the year 2023. MM (DU) has been placed in the Rank Band 601-800 amongst the Top Universities of the World by the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2023.

In the recent NIRF 2022 rankings released by Govt. of India, MM (DU) has been ranked at 78 ^th  place amongst All Universities in India and Pharmacy & Medical Institutes have been ranked 31 ^th  and 34 ^th  respectively among top Government and Private Institutes in India. The teaching hospital of MM Institute of Medical Sciences & Research has been granted NABH accreditation since September, 2019. The B. Pharm a program has also been accredited by NBA. Further, the MM(DU) has also been accredited as premier institution by ASIC, UK.
