Marist undergraduate admissions 

Marist College offers a flexible admissions processes for international students. Check their website for the most up-to-date information on requirements and deadlines as this can change year to year.

Online application  

You can apply to Marist in two ways: the Marist Application (online or print) or the Common Application.  

General requirements 

  • Official transcripts: Submit official transcripts from your high school and any colleges you've attended (translated if necessary)
  • Standardised tests (optional): While Marist is test-optional, you can submit SAT or ACT scores if you'd like 

English proficiency 

If English isn't your native language, you'll need to submit a TOEFL, IELTS, or Duolingo English Test score (with minimum score requirements). This can be waived if you meet certain criteria (check the Marist website for details). 

Additional requirements by student type: 

  • First-year: Counsellor recommendation form, one additional letter of recommendation, personal essay.
  • Transfer students: One letter of recommendation, personal essay, list of courses in progress.

Marist postgraduate admissions 

Marist offers a straightforward application process for their graduate courses. Here's what you need to know. 

  •  Apply online: Most of Marist’s postgraduate programmes use a centralised online application system (CAS).
  • Programme-specific requirements: While the application process is generally online, some courses may have additional requirements. Visit the programme page to see if there are any extras you need to submit.
  • Separate application systems: A few specific programmes (Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training) use entirely different application systems. The course page will have links and instructions for these applications. 

Make sure you refer to the Marist College website and explore the graduate programme pages for the most up-to-date postgraduate application information. 
Students interested in applying to Marist College should rank in the top half of their graduating class and hold a recalculated average of 88-93 or 3.1 – 3.7. The quality and difficulty level of each class is taken into account as well. Leadership qualities and high school activities are also important. Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements: 4 years of English 3 years of Science 3 years of Math 3 years of History/Social Studies 2 years of a foreign language Marist places the greatest emphasis on the high school transcript. SAT/ACT scores are not required.* However, for applicants who choose to submit them, scores are usually between 1210-1360 SAT/ 26-31 ACT. * International students whose native language is not English are required to submit the Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.), International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or Duolingo scores. In addition, students applying for our HEOP program are required to submit their SAT or ACT results.

Accommodation 

Marist College offers on-campus housing, known as residence areas, for over 3,300 students. Accommodation comes in a variety of styles, including suites, apartments, and townhouses. The college uses a ‘rites of passage’ philosophy and priority points system to assign housing, meaning as a student, you’ll live in an environment that supports your development throughout your college career.
