Applying to NABA
NABA welcomes applications from students with different educational backgrounds. Admission considers academic qualifications, motivation and suitability for the chosen programme, together with the relevant language requirements. Applicants can begin their application through NABA's admissions portal at admission.naba.it.
Undergraduate study in Milan and Rome
Applicants to NABA's three-year BA programmes must hold an Italian upper-secondary school diploma or an eligible equivalent qualification from another education system. International qualifications are assessed to establish whether they meet the requirements for entry to higher education in Italy.
The admissions assessment explores motivation, aptitude and creative potential. Applicants present a written statement and creative work in response to the requirements of their chosen programme. The process may also include an interview to discuss their interests and work. Students can begin the admissions process before completing secondary school, with enrolment subject to meeting the academic requirements.
Postgraduate study in Italy
Applicants to NABA's two-year MA programmes and one-year Academic Masters must hold a bachelor's degree, a First Level Academic Diploma or an eligible equivalent qualification. Each programme specifies the academic background and skills relevant to admission; candidates from other disciplines may also be considered where their motivation and research interests support their application.
Applications generally include a CV, motivation letter and academic records, together with a portfolio where required. Some programmes request specific application tasks. The assessment considers the applicant's preparation and suitability, and an individual interview may be requested.
Undergraduate study at the NABA London campus
Applications to the BA (Hons) programmes at NABA London campus are assessed against the academic and English-language requirements for the chosen course. Supporting documents include academic records, a personal statement and a portfolio and/or project assignment, as applicable.
An integrated Foundation Course pathway is also available. The appropriate entry route depends on the applicant's previous qualifications and their assessment during the admissions process.
Spaces for creative learning
NABA's campuses in Milan, Rome and London bring specialist laboratories together with spaces for research and independent study. These facilities support a learning approach that connects ideas with practical experimentation, giving students opportunities to work with materials and develop projects using professional tools.
NABA Milan campus
Located near the Navigli district, the NABA Milan campus occupies a historic complex of 14 buildings covering approximately 23,000 square metres. Specialist laboratories sit alongside study and lounge areas, a library, green spaces and a cafeteria.
Design laboratories support model making and prototyping through woodworking and plastics equipment, laser cutting, 3D printing, clay 3D printing and CNC milling. Fashion facilities include sewing, textile and knitwear laboratories, with industrial machines and a textile library for fabric research.
Media facilities provide equipment for photography and audiovisual production, together with spaces for editing, colour correction, sound and animation. The Virtual Studio supports virtual production through an LED volume and motion capture system. Printmaking facilities and a photographic darkroom offer further opportunities for experimentation.
The library combines a reading room and computer workstations with books, specialist journals, films and digital resources. Students can also explore physical samples in the Materials Library and consult databases including JSTOR, WGSN, The Business of Fashion and Vogue Archive.
NABA Rome campus
The NABA Rome campus occupies three early twentieth-century buildings in the Ostiense district and covers approximately 6,000 square metres. Its facilities include specialist laboratories, computer classrooms, a library and spaces for study and informal exchange.
Fashion facilities support sewing, textile experimentation and knitwear, complemented by a textile library. Film and photography studios provide controlled environments for shoots, while the post-production room supports editing, colour correction and sound editing.
Visual arts facilities include an atelier with easels and individual workbenches, printmaking equipment and a photographic darkroom. Three design laboratories support the production of prototypes and experimental project work.
The library provides reading space, computer workstations and resources for learning and research, including books, magazines, films and e-books. Students can also access specialist digital databases covering art, fashion and design.
Beyond the laboratories and classrooms, students have access to a lounge, café and outdoor spaces. Two furnished terraces provide places to study, work in groups or take a break between classes.
NABA London campus
Based at Here East within Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, the NABA London campus provides dedicated spaces for design and fashion education.
The Design Lab supports project development, while the Fashion Design Lab provides space for experimentation with fashion processes. A Hybrid Lab accommodates interdisciplinary activities, bringing different approaches to creative work together.
A dedicated library and study pods provide settings for individual research and group projects, complemented by access to the Academy's digital resources. Students also have access to a canteen and dedicated support services, including career guidance, psychological support and assistance with visas and international study.
