Nakhchivan University was registered in the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 1999 and started operating as a higher education institution. The university is the only private higher education institution located outside Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan.
The university has a rich material and technical base. A magnificent university campus consisting of 7 buildings and auxiliary facilities has been built. Architecturally and pedagogically perfect teaching buildings, tastefully designed lecture and training rooms, booths and centers, electronic halls, computer rooms, language rooms, a scientific library with a rich book fund, a geography cabin, auditoriums according to modern standards, a chess room, a sports complex and a conference hall, a modern dormitory with all amenities, as well as a three-story social service center serve teaching staff and students. Currently, bachelors, masters, doctoral students are studying at "Nakhchivan" University. The latest modified technologies are used in the training process.
The university cooperates with 51 higher education institutions of the world. He is a member of three international educational organizations. Participates in international programs and projects. Since 2017, it has been engaged in the admission of foreign students.
The membership plays a great role in the cultural life of NU and serve to expand international partnership and organize international symposiums.
