Nalut University

Nalut University is a public higher education institution located in western Libya, serving several cities and communities across the region. Through its multi-campus structure, the university provides accessible higher education opportunities and contributes to regional academic development and human capital formation.

The university operates across multiple locations, including Nalut, Kabaw, Jadu, Ghadames, and Al-Ruhaibat. Its academic structure includes the Faculty of Law in Nalut and its branch in Al-Ruhaibat, the Faculty of Economics and Political Science, the Faculty of Medical Technology, the Faculty of Engineering in Jadu, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Ghadames, three Faculties of Education located in Nalut, Kabaw, and Jadu, and a Faculty of Information Technology currently under development.

Nalut University offers undergraduate degree programs across a broad range of disciplines including law, economics, political science, engineering, education, medical and laboratory sciences, humanities, and applied sciences. Programs are delivered in accordance with national higher education standards, with instruction provided in English or Arabic depending on the discipline. The university aims to prepare graduates who are equipped with professional competence, analytical skills, and ethical awareness.

The academic framework integrates theoretical instruction with applied learning. Teaching approaches include classroom-based study, laboratory sessions, practical training, and supervised field experience where appropriate. This structure supports the development of practical skills aligned with labor market needs and public sector requirements.

Beginning in the 2026 academic year, the Faculty of Law has launched a master’s degree program, marking an important milestone in the institution’s postgraduate development. Additional master’s programs in Engineering and Medical Technology are currently under review and pending approval by the relevant authorities, reflecting the university’s strategic objective of expanding postgraduate education in selected disciplines.
