Established in 1971 in Changhua County,Taiwan, National Changhua University of Education (NCUE) is a comprehensiveuniversity offering 21 undergraduateprograms, 43 master’s programs, and 15 PhD programs, covering avariety of subjects, including arts and humanities, engineering and technology,life sciences, natural sciences, guidance and counseling, business management,and education and sports.
The College of Education, College ofScience, College of Technology, College of LiberalArt, College of Engineering, College of Management and College of Social Sciences and Physical Education are seven extensioneducation colleges at NCUE, which actively cooperate with the government,academia and research institutions, making the university a hub forprofessional education and training.
National Changhua University of Educationis also one of three universities in Taiwan that offers secondary schoolteacher certificate programs and teacher training. For more than 10 consecutiveyears, NCUE has been awarded several awards from the Ministry of Education forits outstanding teaching projects, and currently ranks as the second largestuniversity in Taiwan for teacher education.
Teaching at NCUE is conducted mainly inChinese. However, there are a number of courses which are taught in English, aswell as undergraduate language-orientated courses,including Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, French and Japanese.
With a student population of almost 7,000, just over four percent of students at NationalChanghua University of Education represent 15 nationalities from all over theworld. The university is therefore committed to international relations andexchanges, and has signed double-degree collaboration agreements with a numberof foreign universities to help students gain a dual degree qualification. In 2017,National Changhua University of Education was awarded the Award for Excellencein International Student Services by the Ministry of Education.
