Established in 1971 in Changhua County, Taiwan, National Changhua University of Education (NCUE) is a comprehensive university offering 21 undergraduate programs, 42 master’s programs, and 15 PhD programs, covering a variety of subjects, including arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences, natural sciences, guidance and counseling, business management, and education and sports. The College of Education, College of Science, College of Technology, College of Liberal Art, College of Engineering, College of Management and College of Social Sciences and Physical Education are seven extension education colleges at NCUE, which actively cooperate with the government, academia and research institutions, making the university a hub for professional education and training.
National Changhua University of Education is also one of three universities in Taiwan that offers secondary school teacher certificate programs and teacher training. For more than 10 consecutive years, NCUE has been awarded several awards from the Ministry of Education for its outstanding teaching projects, and currently ranks as the second largest university in Taiwan for teacher education. NCUE courses are not only taught in Chinese, but also in English. Second foreign language courses are also available for beginners, including Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish, French and Japanese. With just around four percent of students representing 15 nationalities from all over the world, the University is committed to making more of an effort in international relations and exchanges, such as signing dual-degree collaboration agreements with a number of foreign universities to help students gain a dual-degree qualification from prestigious institutes overseas, as well as creating a friendly learning environment for international studnts by offering sufficient support. In 2017, NCUE was awarded for its excellence in international student services by the Ministry of Education.
