About Odesa State University of Internal Affairs

Odesa State University of Internal Affairs is a higher education institution of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine with specific training conditions. During its existence, the educational institution has come a long way from the Odesa Provincial School for Training Junior and Senior Police Officers, founded on 27 February 1922, to Odesa State University of Internal Affairs, established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine No. 77 of 22 February 2008, which is now one of the leading higher education institutions in the system of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The motto is Law. Honour. Knowledge

Mission - The activities of each member of the numerous staff of Odesa State University of Internal Affairs are aimed at providing training for citizens-leaders for our society. We do this through the prism of an irresistible desire to build a modern legal democratic state and the strict rule of law.

The University provides a full cycle of legal education: from bachelor's to doctoral degrees. Cadets and students study such general legal disciplines as criminal law, civil law, criminology, criminal procedure, civil procedure, forensic science, international law, constitutional law, administrative law and administrative procedure, financial, tax, customs law, legal psychology, etc.

In addition, there are special disciplines that are taught only in higher education institutions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs: operational and investigative activities, firearms training, tactical and special training, special physical training, countering cybercrime, etc. To consolidate theoretical knowledge, students take practical classes in law enforcement units.

Students complete their internships at their choice in government agencies and institutions, as well as in commercial enterprises and establishments.

Cadets are trained in the units of the National Police, where they are guaranteed to be employed after graduation.
