Palestine Polytechnic University

Palestine Polytechnic University (PPU) was established as a technical institute in 1978 and has grown to be an accredited university by the Palestinian university presidents’ council in 1999, a member in the Association of the Arab Universities and a member of the International Universities Association of UNESCO since 2006.

The main goal of Palestine Polytechnic University is revealed by its vision of becoming an innovative global entrepreneurial university in science and technology, as well; PPU seeks excellence in its academic, research, administrative, financial and all professional practices to accomplish its vision of becoming an entrepreneurial university.

PPU is considered a medium sized university located in the southern part of Palestine with almost 8000 students hosted in two main campuses. As a university of high technology programs; PPU pays special attention to providing quality educational and scientific research modalities through the advanced infrastructure including specialized labs and workshops equipped with the latest technologies in each field.

In addition to higher education services, PPU provides technical consultation and training services to the local community through a number of specialized divisions and centers that employ scientific research and technical practice to provide services of applied research in addition to capacity building services. The main applied research units include the Biotechnology Research Center, the Center of Excellence in Water, Environment, and Energy Research and Services, The Artificial Intelligence Research Unit, and the Power Electronics and Signal Processing Research Unit. Additionally, the service providing centers and units include the Center of Excellence and Continuing Education, the Industrial Synergy Center, Marble and Stone Training Center, Vehicle Diagnosis Center, the Center of Occupational Safety and Environmental Health, the Technical Consultations and Services Department and other purposeful divisions and initiatives of cooperation with local and international actors in the area.

Nowadays, PPU is a renowned university in Palestine that provides academic and vocational degrees in engineering and technology including associate programs in addition to the bachelor of medicine, bachelor of engineering, master of engineering, bachelor of sciences and master of sciences in 51 highly demanded specialties and one PhD program in Information Technology delivered by the faculties of Medicine, Engineering and Technology, Applied Sciences, Administrative Sciences and Informatics, Information Technology and Computer Engineering, Nursing, Dual Studies, and Applied Professions. PPU programs are handpicked to fulfill the community needs and up-to-date with modern technologies and advancement in content and methodologies. Also, PPU adopts policies of integration with the local and international community to establish joint programs with sister universities and the local private sector and the government.
