In SCAD production studios and theaters, performing arts students seize roles in sitcoms, films, plays, musicals, TV shows, and immersive themed experiences, or find jobs in professional productions via the SCAD Casting Office. Through it all, students are led by professors with impressive credentials — accomplished actors, directors, and casting directors at major studios and networks — and connect with iconic Hollywood stars at SCAD signature events celebrating the best of film, television, and streaming each year. SCAD performing artists flourish in a range of acclaimed projects each year, from sitcoms and musicals to student-produced films and performing arts showcases in Atlanta, Los Angeles, and New York. Guided by professors with impressive credentials, performing arts students experience studio-style collaboration across projects and media. SCAD students give voice to animations, portray original characters in television pilots, and use virtual reality to create transcendent immersive experiences. Performing arts is an ever-evolving field. In order to thrive in such an industry, many students choose to pursue a double major or related minor while they are here. You can explore new perspectives, harness diverse creative approaches, and develop a unique, well-rounded style — all while earning multiple degrees.

While not required of most applicants, submission of GRE scores is strongly encouraged for applicants to architectural history, art history, business design and arts leaderships and cinema studies. Additionally, if your undergraduate program doesn't meet certain requirements regarding accreditation and/or approval by the U.S. Department of Education, GRE scores may be required. Please discuss this with your admission adviser to be sure what will be required of you. Acceptance into graduate programs at SCAD is based heavily on the portfolio. Unlike undergraduate portfolios, graduate program portfolios are required for acceptance and must be program-specific. Each program has its preferred types of portfolios.
