Shandong University of Science and Technology

Shandong University of Science and Technology (SDUST), founded in 1951, offers multidisciplinary education in engineering, sciences, management, literature, law, economics and education with unique engineering characteristics. It is a key construction university of Shandong Province for cultivating personnels with practical abilities. It is co-built by Shandong Provincial People's Government and the former State Administration of Work Safety.
The University now has three campuses, located respectively in Qingdao, Tai’an and Jinan, covering a total area of 253 hectares with a floor space of 1.46 million square meters. The University’s total assets vallue 2.897 billion yuan RMB (teaching instruments and equipment 0.746 billion yuan RMB).

Outstanding Young Scholar Foundation Program professors and Yangtse Program professors. 6 professors are honored with titles of National Young- and Middle-aged Experts with Oustanding Contributions. 52 professors are entitled to state special subsidies. There are two leading talents in the talent team of Taishan Scholar's Advantageous and Characteristic disciplines, 30 experts in the Taishan Climbing Project , 30 specially hired experts and young experts, and 21 young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Shandong Province. There are 11 provincial excellent teachers, 4 national model teachers and 7 national excellent teachers. There are two Education Ministry innovation teams and 2 Shandong province innovation teams.

In the past five years, SDUST has undertaken 368 national scientific research projects and 880 provincial and ministerial projects. It has won 246 scientific research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, including 2 second prizes of national science and technology progress. 1272 national invention patents were authorized. The science and Technology Park of the university is jointly recognized by the Ministry of science and technology and the Ministry of education as the "National University Science and Technology Park" and the "College Students' Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Practice Base".

The University has established cooperative relationship with 120 universities and research institutes in 23 countries and regions. Nearly 100 foreign experts joined the university every year and over 50 cooperative projects initiated. 5 joint-education and student exchange programs are approved by the Ministry of Education with over 2000 students enrolled. Over 500 international students from more than 69 countries come to SDUST for degree or short term studies.
