Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan (SOA), located in the city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India is presently one amongst the leading higher education institutions in the country. It is a Deemed to be University declared under Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act., 1956, India.It is actively engaged in education and research in Engineering & Technology, Medical & Dental Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biotechnology, Management Sciences, Nursing, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Legal Studies, Agricultural Sciences, Basic Sciences & Humanities at Undergraduate, Post-Graduate, Post-Masters' in Medical Sciences, Doctoral and Post-Doctoral level. All the programmes have been approved and recognized by respective statutory councils of India.

For maintaining consistent high academic standards:•    SOA has been granted with Category-II Graded Autonomy Status by University Grants Commission, India•    It has been reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by NAAC with a score of 3.35 out of 4.00.•    SOA has been consistently ranked within Top 25 on National level for 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021 by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), Govt. of India•    SOA is the fourth Institute in India to get three of its engineering programmes accredited by Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET), USA for six years in its first attempt.

SOA presently offers a rich portfolio of more than 111 academic programs in disciplines that ranges from technology, to medicine, nursing, dental, law and agriculture. The university is home to highly focused and relevant research across 16 R&D Centres and 58 best in class research labs in 22 research thrust areas aligned with national and international priorities such as Nano science and Nano technology, Bio materials and tissue regeneration, Renewable Energy, etc. Despite being just over a decade old, SOA generated 8463 SCOPUS Indexed Publications with a h-index of 77 and 4825 Web of Science Indexed Publications with a h-index of 71 . Its SCOPUS indexed publications, which increased by around 65 times, is a testimony to its enabling environment for undertaking research. SOA has filed 317 Patents and 9 nos. of Designs out of which 21 patents and 9 designs has been granted.

The academic and research pursuits of SOA is supported by the presence of quality talent onboard. Quality Faculty and students are at the core of Institute’s growth. SOA puts considerable emphasis on internationalization and has distinguished international faculty on board from reputed universities such as UC Davis, University of Oklahoma, Penn State University, Arizona State University etc. It has international collaborations with leading universities globally such as UC Davis, USA, Aarhus University, Denmark, Florida International University, USA; University of Texas, Arlington, USA; Dongseo University, Korea; Ho-Chi-Minh City University of Transport, Vietnam; Rajamangala University of Technology, Thailand, Aarhus University, Denmark etc.

SOA also focused on holistic development of community at large. The contribution which it gives back to the region and country in particular is tremendous and unparalleled. It offers free outdoor medical facilities and 1500 free beds through SUM Hospital, benefitting ~15 lakh people. SOA operates 1 urban and 1 rural health centre with 5,000+ health camps benefitting ~5 lakh people in total. During COVID pandemic SOA established 10 dedicated COVID Hospitals and 2 COVID Care Centres comprising of 2400 beds (both General & Intensive Care), that treated thousand patients free of cost in collaboration of Govt. of Odisha.
