Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) offers two types of full-time graduate programs: Doctoral Programs and Integrated Master-Doctoral Programs. Both types of programs are taught in English.

Master
SUSTech’s state-of-the-art campus is situated in the lush landscape of Shenzhen, amongst nine hills and with creeks winding down to the Dasha river. The topical, tranquil atmosphere is the ideal environment to study and relax.
We have maker spaces, brand new libraries incorporating the latest tech as well as the latest publications, and the lab space and facilities for you to get hands-on. If you want to unwind, there are multiple tennis courts, basketball courts, football pitches, miles of trails to walk through the lychee orchards, and an outdoor swimming pool open throughout the warmer months. Or you can always catch a lecture or performance in the SUSTech Convention Center.
Why not get away for a while or explore the myriad opportunities on offer in the Greater Bay Area? Hong Kong, Macau, and Guangzhou are all only a couple of hours from campus, and Shenzhen has many flights to South East Asia and beyond.

Residential Colleges
With six residential colleges to choose from on campus, you ’ ll find a variety of places to relax, study and enjoy yourself. Every college features well-appointed rooms and a commitment to nurturing students throughout their time at SUSTech, in any way they choose. You might find a passion for something you never knew about while living in one of our residential colleges, so this is the best way to get involved in the SUSTech community!
Accommodation
All international students receive on-campus housing in our new dormitories (opened 2019) which prioritise safety, comfort and convenience.
Food
At SUSTech, we ’ re proud of our Grade A student cafeterias. With a focus on quality, flavor, and freshness, students have a variety of options at our student cafeterias from first thing in the morning to late night snacks. Fresh fruit and juices are available throughout the day, and many palates are accounted for, ensuring that everybody can find something delicious and nutritious to eat on campus.
Study Abroad
SUSTech has developed various international programs to expand undergraduates' global vision and insight, and eventually enhance their competitiveness in the global marketplace, including short-term, smaller modular courses during summer semester, specialty research projects developed by schools/departments, tailored collaborative programs, master classes with lectures by leading foreign scholars, joint programs, and semester exchange programs.
Center for International Students and Scholars (CISS)
In order to provide dedicated support services for international SUSTechers, in 2019 the CISS was created. The Office's mandate is to promote the integration of international undergraduates, postgraduates and faulty faculty members into campus culture.
Aside from managing the recruitment and admissions process for undergraduates, the Office also assist with visa and residence permit issues, holds cultural activities, lectures and excursions, provides orientation services, and acts as an all-purpose information hub for international students and faculty.
Careers
Since our first cohort graduated in 2015, SUSTech students have carved paths for themselves across the world. 40% of graduates go on to further study outside mainland China, 35% go on to further study in mainland China, and 25% go straight into the workforce. Of those going on to further study, 70% go straight to PhD.
Shenzhen is the perfect location students looking to begin their careers in the Greater Bay Area one of the most dynamic regions in Asia and indeed the world. Hong Kong, Macau and Guangzhou are all easily reachable and the majority of the world ’ s leading companies are represented locally. With 70,000+ hi-tech companies in Shenzhen alone, SUSTech grads are perfectly situated to be a part of the next wave of technological development.
