Since 2020, SRU has filed over 1,500+ patents, with 95 granted, and has secured ₹10+ crore in funding. Its recognition as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) further underscores its commitment to advancing high-quality, impactful research.
To foster multidisciplinary innovation, SRU has established several research centers that serve as hubs of creativity, collaboration, and knowledge exchange. These centers empower faculty and students to address real-world challenges through cutting-edge research and interdisciplinary engagement.
A key pillar of SRU’s innovation ecosystem is the SR Innovation Exchange (SRiX), a state-of-the-art Technology Business Incubator (TBI) supported by the Department of Science and Technology (DST). Equipped with rapid prototyping facilities and maker spaces, SRiX provides startups with infrastructure, mentorship, and funding support. Since its inception, SRiX has incubated over 170+ startups across technology, healthcare, agriculture, cleantech, and education sectors and raised a fund of ₹76+ crores from investors. Many of these ventures have achieved significant milestones - securing investor funding, forming strategic partnerships, and launching innovative products - contributing to economic growth, job creation, and technological advancement.
The campus life at SR University is vibrant and enriching, offering students a perfect blend of curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular activities. A wide range of student clubs, along with NSS and NCC units, provide opportunities for leadership, community service, and teamwork. Regular workshops, training sessions, hackathons, and innovation challenges inspire creativity and problem-solving. The university also promotes physical fitness and sportsmanship through diverse sports and games. Together, these initiatives foster the holistic development of students, nurturing not only academic excellence but also confidence, discipline, and a strong sense of social responsibility.

Cost of Living
Warangal, comprising Warangal and Hanamkonda cities, is the second-largest urban centre in Telangana and an important educational and cultural hub. The city offers a comfortable and affordable standard of living compared to major metropolitan cities like Hyderabad. The cost of housing is moderate, with rental accommodation for faculty and students available at reasonable rates. Daily expenses such as food, groceries, local transport, and utilities are economical, making it suitable for students, young professionals, and families. The city has good road and rail connectivity, including access through Kazipet Junction, which connects Warangal to major cities in India.
Warangal has well-developed social infrastructure, including hospitals, banks, shopping centres, schools, and recreational spaces. The presence of reputed educational institutions contributes to a vibrant academic atmosphere. The city also has historical significance, with Kakatiya-era monuments and lakes that enhance its cultural and environmental appeal. Ongoing infrastructure development under state and central government initiatives has further improved urban amenities, roads, and public facilities.
Hasanparthy, where SR University is located (Ananthasagar village, Hasanparthy Mandal), offers a peaceful semi-urban environment with lower congestion compared to the city centre. The area provides a calm academic setting while remaining well connected to Warangal and Hanamkonda through regular public transport and good road access. Essential services such as banking, healthcare, and retail facilities are easily accessible, and larger commercial establishments are within short driving distance.
Overall, Warangal, and particularly Hasanparthy, provides a safe, affordable, and academically supportive environment. The balanced combination of moderate living costs, expanding infrastructure, cultural richness, and accessibility makes it an attractive location for students, faculty, and international collaborators.
