Founded in 1918, Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) is the only university of technology in Estonia. It is located in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia, and is the most international university in the country with around 1700 international degree students coming from 100 different countries.

TalTech offers an opportunity to study in a modern digital campus where many of the most recent technologies are tested and implemented on a daily basis. The featured projects cover a wide range - self-driving vehicles, TalTech100 satellite, e-Pavement (road pavement that produces solar electricity), artificial intelligence to create personal routes for tourist, and much more!

A vision of today’s society is innovative, entrepreneurial, technologically advanced and open to the world, and this is what TalTech is applying for through internationally high-level studies and research. TalTech’s study programmes and learning environment are constantly developing. Experienced professionals from both private and public sector are involved and consulted to create curricula that would meet the latest needs of the labour market. Engineering, entrepreneurship and IT go in hand in hand in TalTech, which is reflected in our modern study programmes that closely combine these fields. TalTech offers internationally recognized Bachelor's and Master's programmes fully taught in English in the following Schools:

TalTech values cooperation with enterprises and business. For many companies as well as public authorities, TalTech is often the first contact point for finding solutions to variety of organizational and product development questions. TalTech Business and Innovation Centre Mektory brings together researchers, students and entrepreneurs offering young people inspiration, knowledge, and resources to create and develop student start-ups and other innovative business ideas.

TalTech is an academic opinion leader as well as the flagship of Estonian engineering and technology. The courage to change, the will to evolve, and desire to have knowledge-based discussions make TalTech a think tank in academic discussions.

HOW TO APPLY

To apply for a study programme at TalTech, you need to submit an application online, providing your transcripts, English proficiency test results, passport, motivation letter and CV. Find out more about the admissions process and application deadlines at www.taltech.ee/apply  

FEES AND FUNDING

Students from non-EU countries are required to pay tuition fees, unless they receive a tuition fee waiver. A tuition fee waiver is a scholarship that grants free education based on the points gained in the course of admission (it is automatically awarded to the best candidates).

The EU citizens are exempt from tuition fees, unless they are enrolled in a study programme under School of Business and Governance.

In the main university building alone the following modern facilities are available for students:

•          500 different study places on the 4 floors of the building

•          180 computer terminals on every floor

•          free access to Wireless Internet in the whole building

•          computer lab with 22 computers

•          training classroom for IL courses

•          26 individual study rooms

•          6 group study rooms (8 persons each)

•          self-service printing, coping and scanning machines on each floor


Library Services:  The new building of the Tallinn University of Technology Library was festively opened on 11th November 2009. And so TalTech’s library is now innovative and user-friendly environment for studies, research, communication and relaxation. The library offers 300,000 volumes on open access shelves and 530,000 volumes in storage capacity.

Housing Services: Student Campus has 2300 accommodation places. Most of our buildings are located near Tallinn University of Technology and one near city centre, in Kristiine district. All houses have different room and apartment types; there are also amenities for washing laundry and parking your car or bicycle. Monthly price range is between 97-282 EUR per month.

It is important to apply for a Student Campus accommodation as soon as possible. Should there be not sufficient places on the Student Campus students have the option to look for private housing off the campus.

Restaurants, cafés and coffee bars: Our campus offers many options for snacks and meals - from cafés and coffee bars to restaurants and canteens. 

There is always something exciting happening at TalTech– scientific discoveries and experiments, new technologies and products, lectures and conferences, etc. Campus is the scene of many communal activities, with a large number of student, cultural and sports events.

Student services:

Various services are available for students including general and programme specific student counselling regarding various issues, career counselling services, exchange studies information, psychological counselling.

TalTech is a part of the ESN Network, an international student organization set up to help exchange students.

TalTech has its own Student Union (SU), an organisation that represents students and student organisations at the university and the Student Body generally outside of the university.
