Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (abbreviated TUSUR University) is one of the leading engineering universities in Russia, created in Tomsk, Siberia, in 1962 to train engineers and researchers for the booming radioelectronic, missile and space industries.
TUSUR University offers over 70 degree programs through 13 faculties and currently trains over 11,000 students, up to a quarter of whom come from abroad. A sizeable share of its student population pursues degree programs through the Faculty of Distance Learning using web-based technologies.
TUSUR was among the first Russian universities to transform its educational process, introducing project-based learning, enhancing the research and innovation components of the academic process, and developing focus on entrepreneurship in addition to the traditional university missions of education and research, all contributing to the high employability of TUSUR graduates. Over the past decade TUSUR has created a network of over 150 innovative spin-out companies founded by its alumni and staff.
The university employs the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS), encouraging mobility of students and simplifying international recognition of degrees obtained at TUSUR.
