UAS is just a short ten minute walk from the coast and the historic port of Mazatlán, which attracts tourists from all over the world who come for whale, turtle and dolphin watching, fishing and adventure tourism.

Sinaloa enjoys a warm subtropical climate, with average annual temperatures ranging between lows of 10.5°C/50°9F in January and highs of 38°C/100.4°F from May to July.

From regionally-prepared chorizo to banana cream pie, local cuisine is extremely appetising and you can expect to enjoy plenty of tasty meals prepared using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

International students who aren’t fluent in Portuguese can take language training lessons at the university’s language institute, which caters to beginners and intermediate and advanced speakers.
 

To apply for undergraduate or postgraduate study at Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa students need to provide:

  • Academic transcripts
  • Proof of registration with CENEVAL (Mexico’s national entrance exam body)
  • Your CURP code, if you are from Mexico
  • Photocopy of your birth certificate
     

To help students realise their goals, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa runs a free tutoring and careers program.

Based on high-level analysis of failure and dropout rates and any educational, psychological and institutional factors that may affect performance, UAS experts and mentors give personalised advice to every student to ensure they achieve their personal best. This may include help with their thesis, dissertation, graduation and applying to internships.
