Universidade Federal do Sul e Sudeste do Pará (UNIFESSPA)

The Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará (Unifesspa) was created on June 5, 2013, by Federal Law 12,824, from the dismemberment of the Marabá Campus of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). With the mission of promoting the universalization of quality public education, the Institution is deeply rooted in the society of the region in which it is inserted, having a primary commitment to regional development. Since its creation, the Institution has allowed thousands of people to have access to free Higher Education, fostering the establishment of qualified professionals in their regions of origin. Thus, Unifesspa contributes to the quality professionalization of the north of the country in fulfillment of the social function of public universities, especially in the Amazon region. Unifesspa offers more than 40 undergraduate courses (bachelor's and bachelor's degrees) in the face-to-face modality, 18 lato (specializations and improvements) and stricto sensu (master's and doctorate) graduate programs, in addition to developing research and extension activities that contribute to the economic and social development of Pará and the country. The mission, vision, values and principles of Unifesspa represent its institutional identity, facilitating and promoting the convergence of human, pedagogical, material and financial efforts, constituting a guiding set that governs and inspires the direction of the Institution. As part of a social agenda to reduce inequalities, Unifesspa seeks to democratize, as much as possible, the entry, permanence and integration between teaching, research and extension in its daily thinking-doing. By taking its first and firm steps, it advances and stands out in the Amazonian scenario, being a pride for the region and a heritage of the Brazilian nation. 

Mission

The Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará - Unifesspa has as its mission "to produce, systematize and disseminate philosophical, scientific, artistic, cultural and technological knowledge, expanding the training and skills of the human being in the perspective of building a just and democratic society and in the advancement of quality of life."

Vision

To be an inclusive university of excellence in the production and dissemination of knowledge of a philosophical, scientific, artistic, cultural and technological nature.

Values

Unifesspa must increasingly assert itself as an institution of academic excellence in the Amazonian, national and international scenario, contributing to the construction of a just, democratic and inclusive society, based on the values of respect for diversity, the search for autonomy and the affirmation of its identity.

The principles of the Federal University of the South and Southeast of Pará (Unifesspa) are:
