Universitas Islam Negeri Raden Mas Said Surakarta

Accredited with a superior rating from the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education with decree number 353/SK/BAN-PT/Ak/PT/IV/2024.

State Islamic University (UIN) Raden Mas Said Surakarta, formerly IAIN Surakarta and STAIN Surakarta, is located in Kartasura, Sukoharjo. This institution was originally part of IAIN Walisongo, established on September 12, 1992, as a pilot project to improve the quality of IAIN by H. Munawir Sadzali, MA (Minister of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia). On June 30, 1997, IAIN Walisongo in Surakarta changed to STAIN Surakarta based on the policy of the Minister of Religion, Drs. Malik Fadjar, M.Sc.

Through efforts to improve academic quality for 13 years, STAIN Surakarta transformed into IAIN Surakarta on January 3, 2011, ratified through Presidential Regulation No. 1 of 2011. This transformation involves the development of three faculties: Ushuluddin and Da'wah, Shari'ah and Islamic Economics, and Tarbiyah and Language. The inauguration by the Minister of Religious Affairs, Drs. H. Suryadharma Ali, M.Si, on July 28, 2011, marked a new era with the role of an agent of Islamization and an agent of social change.

In its development, IAIN Surakarta changed its status to UIN Raden Mas Said Surakarta, expanding its religious and educational contributions under the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia. UIN has two main campuses:

1. Campus 1 is on Jl. Pandawa, Pucangan, Kartasura, Sukoharjo.
2. Campus 2 is on Jl.-Wonosari, Kepanjen, Delanggu, Klaten.

UIN RM Said Surakarta currently offers 33 Undergraduate Programs, 1 Professional Program, 6 Postgraduate Programs, and 1 Doctoral Program, with a plan to develop new study programs. UIN RM Said Surakarta continues to develop into a highly competitive and superior educational institution supported by a long history, strategic location, and abundant human resources.
