Universitas Riau

The University of Riau (UNRI) was established on October 1, 1962, based on UNRI Foundation Decree No. 02/KPTS/JUR/62. UNRI was established on September 25, 1962, accompanied by Decree of the Minister of Higher Education and Science No. 123 dated September 20, 1963.

UNRI offers various study programs at the Bachelor's (S1), Master's (S2), and Doctoral (S3) levels in various disciplines such as science, technology, social sciences, economics, law, agriculture, and health. It has ten faculties: the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), the Faculty of Engineering (FT), the Faculty of Agriculture (FP), the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPK), the Faculty of Medicine (FK), the Faculty of Law (FH), and the Faculty of Nursing (FKp).

Currently, UNRI has five campuses to support academic and non-academic activities. The main campus, known as the Bina Widya Campus, covers 345,617 hectares and has been operational since 1983. It is located approximately 12.5 km from the Pekanbaru city center. This campus houses the Rectorate Building, most of the Faculties (FISIP, FEB, FMIPA, FPK, FKIP, FAPERTA, and FT), a library, institutions, the ICT Technical Implementation Unit (UPT ICT), a teaching hospital, a mosque, and more. The second campus, the Purnama Campus, is located in Dumai City and covers 32,045 hectares to support the academic activities of the Marine Science Program.

The Pattimura Campus, located on Jalan Pattimura Gobah in Pekanbaru, covers 5,795 hectares and Jalan Thamrin, covering 4 hectares, houses the Faculty of Law, the Postgraduate Program, the Diploma 3 Program in Economics, the Career and Entrepreneurship Development Center (P2K2), and other facilities. The Faculty of Medicine has its own campus adjacent to the General Hospital on Jalan Diponegoro. It also houses the former SGO campus, which offers sports-related study programs.

UNRI collaborates with universities and educational institutions abroad for student exchange programs, joint research, and academic quality improvement. UNRI also accepts international students and continues to strive to increase its international student population.
