Admission requirements

To be eligible for the Ph.D. program (educational sciences), the candidate must:
  • meet the general eligibility conditions (section XI) of the Academic Regulations for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies
  • hold a degree equivalent to a master's degree from the Université de Montréal or attest to training deemed equivalent by the dean, on the recommendation of the department director
  • in exceptional cases, hold a bachelor's degree and, on the recommendation of the head of the department, be authorized to enroll in a special doctoral program
  • have obtained in the 2nd cycle an average of at least 3.5 out of 4.3 or the equivalent
  • demonstrate sufficient knowledge of French and English as well as any other language, when it is essential to the program in which he wishes to register; the candidate may be required to submit to a test of knowledge of this language
  • accept that a professor serve as a research director and guide him in the choice of his courses and in his research work
