For a standard international student, the monthly cost of living in Nouakchott is approximately $390 (15,500 MRU), covering expenses such as shared housing ($100-$175), transportation, and food. However, a significant exception applies to students under official government exchange agreements (mostly from the neighbooring countries), who are exempt from registration fees and receive priority for the University Residence (Cité Universitaire).
