About The University of Haripur
The University of Haripur (UOH), established in 2012, is a prominent public sector university located in the picturesque city of Haripur, within the Hazara division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. Surrounded by natural landmarks like the Tarbela Dam and hill stations such as Naran, Kaghan, and Nathiagali, the university benefits from its scenic environment, which attracts numerous tourists annually.
Since its inception, the University of Haripur has quickly grown into a leading academic institution in the region. It offers over 100 undergraduate and graduate programs through four faculties, catering to more than 9,000 students across disciplines like Biological and Biomedical Sciences, Information Technology, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Business Administration, and more. The university is committed to academic excellence, demonstrated through its state-of-the-art research centers such as the Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC) and the Business Incubation Center (BIC), which promote innovative research and entrepreneurial activities.
The university’s campus, which spans across 237 Kanals, is equipped with modern facilities, including a central library, computer labs, sports complexes, hostels, and a medical center. The campus is also recognized for its sustainability initiatives, such as tree plantation campaigns and waste management programs, and is a "Green Campus" with lush greenery and seasonal flowers enhancing the environment. Additionally, the campus is a SMART campus, integrating an ERP system and CMS for academic, research, and administrative functions, ensuring a modern and efficient learning experience.
The University of Haripur boasts a highly qualified faculty, with 300 members, including approximately 200 PhDs (about 66.6%). It holds accreditation from various councils, including NAEAC, NCEAC, NBEAC, and others, ensuring the quality and standards of its academic programs. At the international level, UOH is a member of notable networks such as the Asian Pacific Quality Network (APQN) and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education (INQAAHE).
UOH’s commitment to excellence has led to impressive rankings: it was ranked 3rd in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 14th in Pakistan, and 251-300 globally in the 2024 Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Science Rankings.
