The Business Instructional Facility (BIF) is a state-of-the-art, collaborative space where business students learn and study. The LEED® certified building houses a popular commons area, classrooms, Career Services and academic counseling offices, Illinois MakerLab, Margolis Market Information Lab, and a 300-seat auditorium.
Students will attend many of their classes in Wohlers Hall, which features classrooms, an auditorium, and offices for faculty and staff. Wohlers Hall is located across the street from BIF and makes for convenient access for students going back-and-forth from classes. Irwin Doctoral Study Hall is adjacent to Wohlers Hall. It offers private, quiet study room and workspaces for business doctoral and post-doctoral scholars as they pursue their research and teaching activities.

Student life

Activities and resources outside of the classroom will enrich your experience as you prepare for your future career. You can participate in study nights, career advising, and many social events.

Champaign-Urbana is also an amazing place to be. Here are a few reasons why students love Champaign-Urbana for graduate school.

  • The location: Champaign-Urbana is in the heart of Illinois and just a short, two-hour commute to the Windy City of Chicago. We are also two hours from Indianapolis and three hours to St. Louis. We are a micro-urban community that offers the benefits of a big city with the charm of a small town.
  • The city: Champaign-Urbana has a thriving arts and culture scene along with sporting events, live concerts, indoor/outdoor events and museums. The city is also home to a wealth of cuisines, which is why we claimed the title of Midwest Living's Greatest Midwest Food Town in 2018.
  • The affordability: Data from Bestplaces.net report that Champaign-Urbana's cost of living is 19.2% lower than the U.S. average. We consistently earn top marks for affordability.
