Entry requirements (Law)

If you’re an international student who’s interested in studying law, the entry requirements can vary between programs.

All of our three-year undergraduate law degrees require an IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component, whilst our four-year undergraduate law degrees with a Foundation Year requires an IELTS 6.0 or above with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

For the two-year LLB (Hons) accelerated degree, you’ll need an IELTS 7.0 or above with a minimum of 6.5 in each component, whilst the two-year LLB (Hons) Senior Status degree will require you to have an IELTS 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.

For those who need to improve their English skills in order to meet the necessary IELTS requirements to be able to study an undergraduate course, The University of Law offers a pre-sessional English course which is available at the London Bloomsbury campus.

Entry requirements (Business)

Much like the entry requirements to study law, entry requirements for international students who wish to study business also vary from program to program.

For all of our three-year undergraduate degrees, you’ll need to have achieved BBC at A Level, and Grade C/4 or above in GCSE Maths and English Language (or international equivalent qualifications). For international students, you should have an IELTS 6.0 or above, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

To study a four-year undergraduate business degree which includes a Foundation Year, international students are required to have an English language level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 or above, with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.


There are some additional entry requirements for those who wish to study a course with further professional body qualifications, such as the BSc Accounting and Finance. Tuition fees

International students can expect to pay between £10,900 and £13,500* (per annum*), depending on the program. In some circumstances, for example, our online degrees, there may also be a £250 deposit required.

For example, the three-year, campus-based LLB (Hons) degree is £13,500 per annum for international students, whilst the International Foundation Program – Law is £10,900, with a £250 deposit also required.

    At The University of Law, we offer an array of campus-based and online-based postgraduate law degree programs, ranging from Legal Practice Course (LPC), to an MA in Investigative Legal Journalism, and an MSc in Law Governance, Risk and Compliance. We also offer postgraduate business courses which can be studied full-time, part-time, and online.


    Entry requirements (Law)

    If you’re an international student who’s interested in studying postgraduate law, the entry requirements vary between programs.
    For most programs, you should have the international equivalent qualification to an undergraduate UK lower second-class honors (2:2) as a minimum in any discipline, and your English language level IELTS should be 6.5 with no component below 6.0.

    For the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC), you’ll need to be predicted, or already have a law degree with a second-upper class honors as a minimum (or any other discipline), and a Graduate Diploma in Law/CPE. Successful applicants must pass a selection interview, as well as pass the Bar Course Aptitude Test by August of the year you wish to enroll on the course. You should also have the English language level equivalent to IELTS 7.5 or above, with a minimum of 7.5 in each component.


    Entry requirements (Business)

    If you’re an international student who’s interested in studying postgraduate law, the entry requirements vary between programs.

    For most programs, you should have the international equivalent qualification to an undergraduate UK lower second-class honors (2:2) as a minimum in any discipline, and your English language level IELTS should be 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component.

    For postgraduate business programs, such as the MSc in Global Accounting, you’ll need to have a UK bachelor’s degree within accounting, finance, or business with accounting or finance, or the completion of the F1-F9 of ACCA. For those who enroll on the course that are fully ACCA exam qualified (all 14 papers successfully completed), you’ll only need to complete the Corporate Governance and Social Responsibility module in addition to the dissertation.

    For MBAs, you’ll need at least two years’ of professional work experience, the minimum of an undergraduate UK lower second-class honors (2:2), or the equivalent qualification, as well as an English language level equivalent to IELTS level 6.5 or above with a minimum of 6.0 in each component.Non-standard routes to entry are also available, please visit our website for more information.
