University of Malakand, Pakistan

University of Malakand is one of the fast growing public sector university of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa established by Government of Pakistan on August 30, 2001 and is recognized by Higher Education of Commission, Pakistan. The University is continuously working to bridge the gap aspiration and achievement with quality of education and research in various fields with a vision “To be world class University that provides education with a global perspective and Local focus”. The university present a beautiful natural view with rich culture and history with green lands, gardens, hills, and lakes expanded on 221.5 acres. The University has 28 departments with 68 different programs having 6324 students, 305 faculty members and 403 other staff. The university has been established keeping in view the need of quality education in the  province and specially Malakand Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with all essential and advanced academic requirements. The University provide friendly environment having all basic facilities to staff and students with sophisticated classrooms, offices, gathering rooms with hostels, recreational centers, canteens, sports grounds, gymnasium, medical care unit, residential colony, university market, utility stores, student teachers centre, banks, postal services and family parks.  

The graduates of the University are working in various fields at public and private sector with a considerable number of female employability who are effectively contributing in the economic uplift and development of the country. The graduates are also effectively contributing towards SDGs specially in the field of quality education, no poverty, zero hunger and good health. Not only the graduate student, the researchers of the University of Malakand have earned many Research projects from national and international organization in various fields. They have proudly been awarded Best Researcher, Gold Medals and other Research Productivity Awards by Pakistan Council for Science and Technology and HEC Pakistan.  University of Malakand has been ranked  19th position in Pakistan in HEC journal category ranking announced in February 2016. The University has been ranked by International Organization at distinguished positions. For example, 2nd position in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Province, 6th position through Pakistan and 564 through the world in UI Green Metric Ranking 2018, 1st position in KP, 9th position in General and 17th position through out Pakistan and 351-400 position in Asia in QS Ranking and various top positions in SDG, in THE Impact Ranking in 2019. Recently the University has been ranked Second at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan in QS and UI Green Metric Ranking in 2020. These positions are evident of the tremendous performance of University of Malakand.
