University of Perpetual Help System Laguna

The University of Perpetual Help System Laguna is well-known for its philosophy that “Character Building is Nation Building”. UPHSL is a university that is dedicated to the development of students as leaders.  It aims to graduate dynamic students who are physically, intellectually, socially, and spiritually committed to the achievement of the best quality of life. As a system of services in health and education, the UPHSL is dedicated to the holistic formation of individuals, services and research-oriented professionals and leaders of the community. It shall produce Perpetualites who outstandingly value the virtues of reaching out and helping others as vital ingredients to nation building.

Being selfless and committed, the founders, Dr. Jose de Guzman Tamayo and Dr. Josefina Laperal Tamayo had the desire to serve others at a very young age. The former dreamt of becoming a medical doctor as it was the best way he could serve others. However, he realized the services he rendered were so limited and only within the realm of his profession. With an ardent desire to serve his fellowmen, the idea of reaching out by establishing educational institution gave birth to the satellite system which includes seven (7) recognized campuses within the Philippines.  

UPHSL is a premier university widely recognized as the home of topnotchers and passers in different professional licensure examinations over the years. With its high-quality teaching and support services, extra-curricular activities, world-class facilities, and local/international industry linkages and partnerships to provide students with extensive placement opportunities and support which lead to great employability rate among graduates.

The university’s quality assurance engagements resulted to the following achievements: Top Three (3) Highest Ranking University with the most number of accredited academic programs by the Philippine Association of Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (PACUCOA); ISO 9001:2015 Certified; Autonomous Status; Center of Development for Information Technology; Center of Development for Teacher Education awarded by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), and awarded with an overall rating of three (3) stars by the QS Quacquarelli Symonds Limited.
