University of Phayao

The University of Phayao is an autonomous public university, under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, with a strong support from the royal Thai government. The University is located in Phayao Province (the UNESCO GNLC member), of the northern part of Thailand.

The University was established to promote wisdom of community and has positioned itself as a frontier area-based university. There are 17 faculties, 2 colleges, 2 institutions, 1 campus 1 hospital and 1 demonstration school. They are : Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Social Sciences, Technology, Innovation and Technology Transfer Institute, and University of Phayao Demonstration School.

The University has a vision to be a leading state university to open the opportunity to produce graduates as pillars of the family, and serving the society.

In addition, The University's Core Values are consisted of 7 concepts. They promote an organizational culture that will create mutual trust, learning organization and internationalization. All of which align with, enhance, and are factors in the achievement of the university’s determination and objectives (no.1 and 2). The Core Values consist of: 1. Competence- (paying attention to highly competent personnel first, It is the responsibility of members of the organization to continuously improve their own knowledge and skills, in order to enhance and support competitiveness and leadership).

The university has long been collaborated with its local, national, and international partnerships to hold cultural. educational, activities and conferences for the society benefits.  The university has been ranked the 9th among Thai universities by Scimago rankings with 3 researchers publication ranked in the top 2% of the world. This means that despite being an area-based university, the University of Phayao are renowned as the university to publish academic papers in international journals as well.
