The topics in this course span across politics, philosophy, literature, visual culture and history. Students will spend their second or third year abroad, consolidating and enhancing their learning in a Francophone environment, either as a language assistant or working or studying at one of the partner institutions. Students will spend a quarter of their time on Portuguese. This language can usually only be taken at beginner's or post-GCSE (or equivalent) level maximum. The course aims to bring students to B2 standard (CEFR) in this language (this approximates to A Level) by the end of the degree.
