University of Western Macedonia

The University of Western Macedonia operates with its current structure and includes 7 Schools and 21 Departments, which are distributed across 5 cities in Western Macedonia (Kozani, Florina, Kastoria, Prolemaida, and Grevena).

As a newly established institution, it possesses the dynamism, flexibility, and willingness to make prompt decisions, quickly form policies and strategies, as well as adopt innovative practices within the context of Greek academia. All study programs are fully accredited and structured based on modern academic requirements, providing students with necessary tools, knowledge, and skills for their professional development.

The University of Western Macedonia offers students a comprehensive educational system, which is organized into three cycles of studies: the first cycle covers undergraduate studies, the second cycle refers to postgraduate studies, and the third cycle includes doctoral studies.

The vision of the University of Western Macedonia is to become a leading institution in the quadripartite of knowledge-research-green innovation-contribution tp society, for a sustainable future for all. Due to its special role in the Fair Development Transition, its mission and role are strengthened in the production of research and innovation with a focus on the local community, the promotion of entrepreneurship through study programs and collaborative actions with businesses, participation in the enhancement of the region's human resources, and involvement in the social and cultural life of the area.
