The Ural Federal University is located in Yekaterinburg, Russia and is home to over 30,000 students. Its motto translates to “Think, act, achieve” and the teaching here definitely aims to inspire each of those three things in its students.

The university is the oldest academic institution in the Ural region, having been established in 1920 by a decree given by revolutionary leader Vladimir Lenin. From those beginnings, the university has grown considerably and even split in two at one point, leading to the creation of the Ural Polytechnic Institute.

One of the most famous graduates of the university is the first President of Russia, Boris Yeltsin, who the university is now named after (its full name translates in English as Ural Federal University named after the first President of Russia B. N. Yeltsin).
