About World University of Bangladesh (WUB)
World University of Bangladesh (WUB) is a leading private university in Bangladesh, committed to excellence in quality education. The University is duly approved and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh and the Ministry of Education, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, in accordance with the Private University Act, 2010. WUB is governed by a Board of Trustees and is included in the worldwide listing of universities by UNESCO.
WUB is a member of several prestigious national and international organizations, including the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU), International Association of Universities (IAU), Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific (AUAP), ACBSP, AACSB, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the Quality Assurance & Improvement Council. The University has also created opportunities for students to obtain professional memberships such as IEEE, ASCE, AME, ICE, AACSB, and ACM.
Currently, the University has Four faculties, sixteen departments, and offers 34 academic programs. Approval for additional undergraduate and postgraduate programs is expected from the UGC in due course, as the University has fulfilled the necessary requirements for further expansion.
World University of Bangladesh is authorized to offer courses and award degrees, diplomas, certificates on its own and in collaboration with institutions offering similar undergraduate and graduate programs that make contribution to quick emancipation. At present, it has credit transfer arrangements and academic collaborations with more than 65+ universities in UK, USA, Australia, Germany, China, Japan, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Latvia, Portugal, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malawi, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean and thus remaining in the lime light. The University had its own convocations at regular intervals, and students receives degrees from the Honorable President of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, who is also the Chancellor of World University of Bangladesh. To date, WUB has produced more than 25,000+ graduates who are gainfully employed both at home and abroad.
It may be proudly stated that World University of Bangladesh is the first university in the country to offer degree programs for Diploma Engineers and a pioneer in introducing Mechatronics Engineering in the region, as well as the Master of Business Education (MBE) program.

Cost of living:
WUB assists newly admitted students in finding suitable off-campus accommodation close to the campus. To avail this service, students are required to pay the housing rent and security deposit at least one month prior to arrival in Bangladesh, usually for one year in advance. Many students share accommodation to reduce costs. Students accompanied by spouses may incur higher housing expenses.

Foreign nationals having their Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent examination from foreign education boards / GCE “A” level or its equivalent education in foreign countries shall be considered as Foreign students.
The WUB offers 3 semesters in a year which is Spring, Summer a nd Fall and these semesters generally begins in January, May & September respectively .
