Xi'an Jiaotong Liverpool University

Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU) is an international university based in the World Heritage city of Suzhou on China's east coast. XJTLU offers over 30 undergraduate programs and 29 masters programs, all of which are taught in English.

XJTLU combines and develops the teachings of its two founding institutions, China’s Xi'an Jiaotong University and the UK’s University of Liverpool. The University is independent, but draws upon its two parent universities for guidance and experience, both of which are over one hundred years old and highly respected international pioneers.

XJTLU is the largest international collaborative university in China, as well as the only one with dual degree awarding powers from the Chinese Ministry of Education and from the University of Liverpool (UK). Founded in 2006 with an initial intake of 164 students, the university has grown to nearly 10,000 students on campus with a further 2,500 studying at Liverpool under a 2+2 articulation agreement.

Over time, XJTLU has won wide recognition for its highly internationalized environment, advanced educational conceptions and high-quality talent cultivation and was awarded the titles of “Model Sino-Foreign University’’ and “Pioneer of Higher Education Reform in China”.

International student scholarships are available. Please visit the XJTLU website for more information.
