Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno

Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno (YKSUG) is a “classical” university, founded in 1940, and today is the largest regional university in Belarus with about 20 thousand students. The quality management system of University meets the international standards of ISO 9001. The University quality achievements were awarded the Government Premium of the Republic of Belarus. The University has found recognition not only in Belarus, but also abroad. International contacts include more than 130 universities from different countries, with which YKSUG has joint research activities and academic exchange. Nearly 600 international students from 18 countries study at our university. Education is conducted in the Russian and Belarusian languages and for a number of specialties in English. The University has centers of the German, Lithuanian, Russian and Polish languages, literatures and cultures, Confucius Classroom of Sinology. The Institute for Professional Skills Upgrading and Personnel Retraining provides post-qualifying education. According to the Webometrics ranking our university is among the top 3 Belarusian universities. The University aim is to make the students’ lives comfortable, safe and exciting. Our students and alumni are managers of large enterprises, scientists, ministers, European and World champions in different sports, winners of international competitions and creative contests.
