Unique and Leading Programs

With 200+ programs to choose from, our strength has always been truly exceptional programs. York U is home to Canada’s largest liberal arts program, the only Space Engineering program in the country, a new Global Health program and a unique cross-discipline Digital Media program.  Our Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science has led the way in the development and operation of scientific instruments for three major NASA space missions over the past 30 years, and has also played a supporting role on seven other space missions to date. Our professional schools, Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall Law School consistently ranked among the best, and the School of Kinesiology and Health Science is ranked withing the top 100 in the World in the 2024 Shanghai World ranking in the Sport Science Schools and Departments. With over 90% of employers satisfied with York U graduates, a degree from York prepares our students for long-term career success.

York is home to one of the most dynamic research communities in the world. We are changing the way people think about everything from bees to micro satellites, bullying and space engineering. Our 32 organized research centres, that serve as interdisciplinary synergistic hubs studying inclusive technology and AI, global health research, feminist research, bee ecology, refugee studies, Africa and its diasporas, and more. We are proud to have been t op ranked in applied mathematics,   disease modeling like COVID-19 & Coronavirus publications in Canada (SciVal 2020-2024)
