With 200+ programs to choose from, York’s strength lies in our exceptional breadth and depth of programs. York is home to Canada’s largest liberal arts programs, the only Space Engineering program in the country, a new Global Health program and a unique cross-discipline Digital Media program.  Our Centre for Research in Earth and Space Science has led the way in the development and operation of scientific instruments for three major NASA space missions over the past 30 years and has also played a supporting role on seven other space missions to date. Our professional schools - the Schulich School of Business and Osgoode Hall Law School – are consistently ranked among the best, while the School of Kinesiology and Health Science ranked within the top 100 in the World in the 2024 Shanghai World ranking in the Sport Science Schools and Departments. Our 32 organized research centres, that serve as interdisciplinary synergistic hubs studying inclusive technology and AI, global health research, feminist research, bee ecology, refugee studies, Africa and its diasporas, and more. We are proud to have been top ranked in applied mathematics,  disease modeling like COVID-19 & Coronavirus publications in Canada (SciVal 2020-2024)

Frequently Asked Questions

Application deadlines at York University vary by program, applicant type, and academic term. While some programs have firm deadlines, others may continue to accept applications after the posted date if space remains. Applicants are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible and to review the program-specific deadlines published on York University’s website. Full details are available on the Application Deadlines page: 
Shortly after you submit your application, you will receive an acknowledgment e-mail from York University, providing you with a York Student Number to track your application status in our applicant portal, MyFile. If you have not received a student number within 4-5 business days of submitting your application, please check your spam and junk folders and be sure to add [email protected] to your Safe Senders list.
York continues to welcome transfer applicants, and Transfer Credits are awarded based on your most recent transcript.
