FREE TUITION UNIVERSITIES IN GERMANY: COST OF LIVING, VISA APPLICATION AND ADMISSION DEADLINE

GERMAN EDUCATION IS AS GOOD AS THEIR FOOTBALL– CONGRATULATIONS GERMANY ON A WELL DESERVED WORLD CUP GLORY!
Study Abroad 365 has put together a list of 25 universities in Germany that are tuition free for international students seeking to study in Germany. However, be informed that while studying in Germany, you’ll be required to finance your feeding and accommodation expenses. International students should budget roughly 500 Euros for their books, healthcare, food and registration. So in one year, an international student should expect to spend 7000 Euros on feeding, accommodation and books expenses.
HOW TO OBTAIN A VISA
To obtain a German visa, you’ll have to show concrete finance proof of your ability to finance your accommodation and feeding expenses during your time of study. This can be done in either of two ways:
(1) Submit a letter of finances to the German consulate or embassy. You can obtain this sponsor letter from your parents or a German relative who is willing to sponsor your studies in Germany.
(2) Open a German blocked account and deposit roughly 7000 euro. This can only happen once you’ve received your letter of admission. This blocked account is opened in the German embassy.
For more information, visit a German consulate in your home country or check out their websites for further details.

Hi Jonathan, you can study your bachelor's degree for free at any public university in Germany, however English-taught courses are less common at bachelor's level, so you may need to be a bit flexible about your choice of program (or consider learning German!). You can search for english taught courses via the study-in.de's search tool here. Hope this helps!

Am i eligible for study visa in germany or france(preferably) or ne other good country in Europe. i have got 7.0 IELTS score in general training(if it helps). I would prefer not to go for IELTS again.

Hello, I wanted to know if there are cheap universities but that teach in English as I don't mind learning German but do not want to use a year just to learn the language. Also the websites are very confusing so wanted to know that I am doing Canadian Pre U and wanted to know if they accept that for civil engineering

I'm not sure about cheap fees but the University of Alberta in Edmonton is one if the best in the country for sciences and engineering, probably because of the relevance to the province's oil industry, cost of living is also lower than larger cities like Toronto or Calgary

Hello,

I would like to apply to a low cost master's degree in Germany. I'm an environmental and sanitary engineer from Brazil and I'm looking to study abroad with a low cost, what would be some public university options for me in Germany? I would also like to know if I would need a student visa to study in Germany and if I'm able to work on a part time job while studying?

Hi Tatiana, you can search for masters degrees in Germany here. As you're from Brazil, you will only need a German student visa if you plan to work before or after your degree, but you will still need a residence permit, which you can apply for after your arrival. You can work part-time during your degree for up to 120 full days or 240 half days per year without needing a work permit.

Hello, you can study a bachelor in Nursing for free at any public university in Germany, however I'm not sure if you will be able to find an English-taught program, so you may need to learn German. (You can search for programs here). We have an article advising you on how to get a German student visa here, and more advice can be found in our downloadable guide on how to study abroad in Germany. Hope this helps!

Hi Vishwanath, unfortunately master's degrees in Germany usually aren't free unless you've previously studied an undergraduate degree in the country. We don't currently have a ranking for construction, but you can read about the top universities in Germany here. Hi Syed! Our latest rankings by subject for management (with the results narrowed down to show only German universities) could help you to get started on finding a university to suit you, and then you could check the official websites of the universities you're interested in for more information on their PhD degrees. You can work part-time during your degree (the amount of time you can work depends on where you're from) but it's not recommended to rely on part-time work to fund your expenses. You can study a PhD in Germany for free at any public university and might be able to find a scholarship to help with living costs. Hope this helps!

Hi Bassel, and welcome to our site! If you're studying a bachelor's degree, you can study for free at any public institution in Germany. I am not sure whether German institutions would accept you as a transfer student without having to repeat the first year - this is something you'd need to check with the university. To help you to choose a university, you might like to view our rankings by subject for architecture, with the results narrowed down to show only German universities.

I will start university in 2017, but i read in a lot of websites i could study my bachelor's in Germany for free. I am interested in marketing or something similar. How does it work? Can i really do this? Are there any free international universities I can apply to? And how would I need to apply or what do I need?

Hi Mbanaso, you actually need around 8,700 euros for living costs each year in Germany (although some cities will be more affordable than others). You can study your bachelor's degree in medicine for free at any public university, but unfortunately there are no English-taught courses available in medicine at this level so you will need a strong knowledge of German. You might like to take a preparatory course to help you to acquire the language skills required for your program. To help you to choose a university, you might like to view our rankings by subject for medicine, with the results narrowed down to show only German institutions.
