Master of Architecture is postgraduate programme by coursework. It is a professional degree programme equivalent to the LAM Part II Examination of the Board of Architects (LAM). The programme is a continuation of the LAM Part I Examination qualification as addressed in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture. The objectives of the programme is to produce architectural graduates who are highly skillful in the field of architecture and competent in their future career as Professional Architects with the Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM). Students undertake a range of specialist and research-based studio projects supported by knowledge and application of technology and environment, culture context, research and professional practice to forge the position of "Sustaining Humanity". Utilising a design as research teaching pedagogy, the design studio forms the intersection of interests across three board domains of inquiry, i.e. urbanity, community and technology.

Pre-requisite

  • Pass interview which includes review of Design Portfolio and Personal Statement.
 Entry Pathway

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts in Architectural Studies:  Min. CGPA 2.67
  • Board of Architects Malaysia (LAM):  Student must obtain LAM Part 1 exemption or recognition prior to joining the programme.
  • Board of Architects Malaysia & Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education:  Any other qualifications recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia and Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education.
  • Practical Experience:  Min. six (6) months practical experience after graduating from the first stage of architectural education at a registered architect’s office, approved architectural related organization or practice within the building industry.*

OR

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts in Architectural Studies with a minimum CGPA above 2.50 and below 2.66; Any other qualifications recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia and Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education; Students must obtain LAM Part I exemption/recognition prior to joining the programme.
  • Minimum twelve (12) months practical experience after graduating from the first stage of architectural education at a registered architect office, approved architectural related organisation or practice within the building industry.*
