The single-cycle master's degree course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage LMR / 02 qualifies the profession of Restorer of cultural heritage and is structured in a path distributed between theoretical methodological teachings and technical - didactic activities of diagnostics, conservation and restoration, carried out in the laboratory and on site and practiced mainly on original contexts and artifacts. Access to the course is limited and requires verification of the candidates' suitability through specific tests, while the process ends with a final exam.
The training course aims to provide historical, scientific and technical bases, a correct methodological approach, a high level of recognition, critical and diagnostic skills, a solid practical preparation, as well as intervention and management skills. Graduates will have to move within a horizon that requires a sense of responsibility, in the commitment to acquire a cultural awareness, adequate forms of communication and a constant tension towards updating. The path is therefore structured with the aim of building the inclination to research and experimentation, assuming a precise ethical perspective of respect and care for the environment and cultural heritage, in view of their transmission to the future.
Career opportunities     Graduates will perform the role of Restorer of cultural heritage with decision-making autonomy strictly related to their technical skills, carrying out direct and indirect actions aimed at knowledge and tending to limit the processes of degradation of cultural assets, ensuring their transmission to the future.
Graduates will work as a freelance professional or will have the function of Restorer of cultural heritage at the institutions of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism (superintendencies, museums, libraries ...), private structures operating in diagnostics, conservation and restoration, universities and public and private research bodies.
