The BSc Animation and Visual Effects enables students as creative practitioners and professionals, exploring the potential of computer-generated imagery and developing an individual creative voice.

Throughout the program, students undergo a transformative journey starting with Level 4's Introduction and Bootcamp Year. Here, they immerse themselves in the fundamental principles of the 3D Pipeline, exploring a wide spectrum of production aspects. Students also harness the power of storytelling through Animation, Visual Effects, and Pre-visualization techniques, all while delving into the historical evolution and contemporary practices of animation. These foundational skills not only prepare students for future careers in the industry but also aid in their pathway decision-making.

In Level 5, the focus shifts to Concept and Pathway Exploration. Students gain insights into production design and learn how to effectively convey concepts to shape the design pipeline. Armed with their newfound skills and industry knowledge, students make a pivotal choice by selecting one of three pathways: Animation, Modelling, or VFX. Additionally, they cultivate essential academic competencies, such as critical thinking and research, preparing them to craft proposals for their Level 6 dissertation.

Level 6 marks the culmination of the program, centered around the chosen pathway for the major project. Here, students are granted creative autonomy to define the project's theme, concept, and style within their selected pathway, offering a platform for their unique creative visions to take shape and flourish.
