The Education for Instruction program at Jacksonville University prepares students for the 21st century world by structuring educational pedagogy with multiple opportunities to be engaged in realistic application in the community. Graduates from this program will be prepared to provide front-line education, instruction, presentations, and leadership in all aspects of community development. The program is designed to allow students a strong liberal arts experience, coupled with transdisciplinary classes across the JU Campus. It consists of the following core classes EDU 102: Human Development and Learning; EDU 103: Intro & Foundations in Education; EDU 115: ESOL 1: Cross Cultural Communication and Understanding; EDU 231: Meeting the Needs of Diverse Learners; EDU 303: Promoting Safety and Crisis Prevention; EDU 306 WI: Introduction to Leadership; EDU 312 SI: Introduction to Civic Engagement; EDU 401: Measurement, Evaluation and Assessment in Education; EDU 432: Effective Instructional Strategies; EDU 457: Classroom Management; ENT 481: Entrepreneurship and the New Economy and EDU 486: Reading and Learning Skills.
