Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University (USPU) was founded in 1930 as the Institute of Social Education. For 90 years of its existence, the University has established itself as an intellectual centre of national culture, the formation of creative personality of future professionals.

The USPU is located in the picturesque town of Uman, in the heart of Ukraine. It is a city with 16,000 students (20%) per 80, 000 population.

Uman is a well-known tourist city.

The legendary Sofiivka park is located here, which is included in the list of 7 wonders of Ukraine.

Uman is a phenomenon of multiculturalism. After all, historically, different cultures, nationalities and religions coexist here.

Every year a large number of pilgrims from around the world visit their temple, located in Uman. Our university is directly integrated into this multicultural life.

The student body of our university is annually replenished with foreign students, in particular, from Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Serbia, China, Algeria, Tunisia, etc.

Students from 23 regions of Ukraine study at University, which testifies to the trust of students and their parents in providing quality educational services.

It is in Uman that students from all over the world will feel comfortable and safe.

Today, the University is a higher education institution of European level, which provides the labor market with highly qualified and competitive professionals.

The university consists of 11 faculties and 1 educational and scientific institute:

12)                      Institute of Economy and Business Education.

Research activities

The university has a strong scientific infrastructure, which includes: research centres of dual subordination, international cultural and educational centres, regional scientific and methodological centres, research laboratories and schools and design departments.

International activity

Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University maintains extensive international relations with foreign educational, scientific and cultural institutions around the world. Today, there are 60 cooperation agreements with institutions in Poland, The United States, Belarus, Turkey, China, Lithuania, the Czech Republic, Israel, etc.

Academic exchange

Students of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University actively participate in various programs of academic mobility abroad, become winners of international competitions and tournaments.

The university implements academic mobility projects "Mobile + 3", "Mobile + 2", "Erasmus +" program, as well as double degree programs aimed at supporting initiatives in the fields of education, culture and sports.

Current international projects and programs:

-       in the framework of the EU program Erasmus + KA2: project "Modernization of pedagogical higher education using innovative teaching tools" (MoPED) - №586098-EPP-1-2017-1-UA-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP.

-       Participation in the program CSR Ukraine, Healthy Challenge.

·        Cooperation with the British Council:

-       within the program of the British Council for Youth in the field of intercultural dialogue and social development "Active citizens" participation in the project "Learning to hear together and overcome social isolation";

-       within the program "Student Action: Program for the development of student leadership competencies" participation in the project Academic Integrity as a component of the quality of the educational process.

·        In 2020, the university became a signatory to the Magna Charta Universitatum and member of the Black Sea Universities Network (BSUN).

Sports and art potential of the university

Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University is a centre of the annual sporting event – the Open Boxing Cup, as well as, various art festivals, projects and fairs (for example, "Open Space of Creativity") in city and region.

Publications activity

The university publishes collections and scientific journals that are included in the list of professional publications of Ukraine and the scientometric catalog Google Scholar.
