The great challenges of our time, from climate crisis to information manipulation, all have something in common: They are complex societal problems that can only be addressed via cross-disciplinary approaches that recognize larger connections between things. Tailored to the needs of the sustainable information society of the future, the program provides students with a comprehensive understanding of how individual (information) technologies and business models can shape societies and values through organizations, networks, and entire industries.

Upon graduating from the Master’s Programme in Information Networks, graduates will have:

Societal perspective on technology. Graduates understand the broader impacts of individual technologies such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, and they appreciate how they themselves can help realize sustainable, human, and ethical visions of technology in society. Understanding of how technology reshapes businesses. Graduates know how specific technologies and information systems, such as artificial intelligence and cloud computing, enable new business models and allow organizations to support the transition toward a more ecologically, economically, and socially sustainable society. Ability for critical thinking. Graduates are skilled in evaluating and creating information technology and business models that integrate ethical, philosophical, and societal perspectives. Socially conscious engineering mindset. Graduates are equipped with the tools and knowledge needed to create responsible and sustainable technologies, organizations, and businesses. Strong personal and interpersonal skills. Graduates have strong skills to work in teams as well as collaborate with professionals across a wide range of disciplines, and they understand their own role, identity, and goals in the context of technology, business, and societal impact.
