On November 01, 1992, the journey of the Department of Marketing was initiated by ten eminent faculty members under the leadership of Professor A J M Nuruddin Chowdhury. Its primary goal is to impart impactful insight for its students and the larger community through combining innovative academic offerings and cutting-edge marketing research. Currently, it has more than 700 students enrolled in BBA, MBA, MPhil, and Ph.D. programs. It has a total of 25 distinguished faculty members who have obtained doctoral, MBA, or MSc degrees from renowned universities in the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Italy, Japan, China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Bangladesh. The Department of Marketing emphasizes interactive learning and innovation in and outside the classroom. It has modern classrooms, equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, along with a rich seminar library, a computer lab, and a resource center, which is the first of its kind in the university. As an outcome, the faculty members are regularly publishing in prestigious journals worldwide. The department offers a "Marketing Lecture Series" involving executives and academicians to enhance industry-academia collaboration. It facilitates the leadership exercises of its students through regular extra-curricular activities of its student organization named Marketing Society for Leadership Proliferation (MSLP)
